After a successful run in Korea last July 2023, the World Poker Tour® is back in Jeju Island, South Korea. The 2024 installment of WPT® Korea promises exciting, action-filled events during the 10-day festival from March 25 to April 3 happening at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World.

The WPT Korea Championship, with a guaranteed prize pool of KR₩ 2B ($1.5M), features a buy-in of KR₩ 2.8M ($2,000). The series kicks off with the Super High Roller event, boasting a buy-in of KR₩ 40M ($30,000 USD). The sole winner at the final table was Jia Li Ouyang, who took home KRW 405,260,000 ($300,000 USD), along with the prestigious WPT trophy and the first-ever WPT Gold Champion ring.
"We continue to expand the ways in which poker players from around the world can participate in World Poker Tour events," said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. "Following a highly successful WPT Korea 2023, we prioritize returning in 2024 and anticipate an even larger registration turnout."
Tao Yin from China proved to be the last one standing in the WPT Korea 2023 Main Event, taking home KR₩ 295,000,000 ($229,370). The Main Event attracted 758 participants, exceeding its guarantee and accumulating a total prize pool of KR₩ 2,246,947,400 ($1,700,000)

This year, the WPT Korea Championship 2024 has a guaranteed prize pool equivalent to about 750 buy-ins, but in just flight A alone, there were 319 registrations and 84 players advancing to Day 2. Chinese player Lin Yan had a dominant day of play, starting with 50,000 chips and finishing flight A with 836,000 (~278 big blinds).

With a deep structure and 60 minutes per level, along with 2 additional flights (B and C) for Day 1 registration, players have ample opportunity to join the action. Surpassing the guaranteed prize pool of the WPT Korea Championship 2024 is within reach. In addition to cash prizes, the champion will also receive the prestigious WPT trophy and the coveted WPT Gold Champion ring.
