#1 KICK OFF EVENT
The spotlight of the first week's tournament at the HSOP Championship Series has come to an end. 95 players advanced to the Final Day with great determination to claim the championship trophy and a prize of 434M LP. After nearly 10 hours of gameplay, the Kick-off Event narrowed down to the top 9 players who made it to the Final Table.
The atmosphere at the Final Table began to heat up as MCD brilliantly eliminated Thatu. Soon after, Kim Gun Young scored a lucky hand with QQ, turning the tables against Chien Thang Hoang's KK by hitting a set of Qs on the flop, ultimately sending Chien Thang Hoang home with the 7th prize. Nhung Nguyen lost a flip with A4o against Taejoon Cho's 33 and finished in 6th place with a prize of 80M LP. Taejoon Cho secured the 6th position when eliminated by Jonald, receiving a prize of 110M LP. 3-betting all in with ATo, Jonald bowed out of the game as MCD called the all-in and emerged victorious with AQo. Jacob Yong eliminated Kim Gun Young and proceeded to the Heads-up round with MCD.
The battle between MCD and Jacob Young unfolded in intense fashion with both sides exchanging blows continuously. There were moments when MCD was very close to victory with a chip lead three times that of his opponent. However, with a key hand where Jacob Young held QJo all in against MCD's AQo, Jacob Young staged a comeback in the hand by hitting a straight on the river. Losing the advantage, MCD ultimately finished as the runner-up with a prize of 300M LP.
Jacob Young officially clinched the championship title of #1 Kick Off Event at the HSOP Championship.
#7 MEGASTACK HIGH ROLLER 8-MAX
The Megastack High Roller tournament unfolded with great excitement with 97 registrations, pushing the Total prize pool to 2.8B, surpassing the GTD of 2B. The final table with 9 outstanding players began as the clock struck 1 AM on April 15th, with 5 players from Vietnam.
Quang Nguyen had an outstanding day of competition, eliminating 4 players before entering a heads-up battle with Nguyen Quang Huy to claim the championship title of #7 Megastack High Roller. After just 15 minutes of gameplay, Quang Nguyen stopped Nguyen Quang Huy in the runner-up position and officially secured the championship trophy of Megastack High Roller with a prize of 742M LP.
