From July 24-29, 2024, a brand-new series will debut in the Cambodian poker scene. The Won Poker Cup promises to be an attractive destination for the Southeast Asian poker community. The event will be held at the 5-star Won Majestic Hotel in the coastal city of Sihanoukville, just a short walk from the beautiful Ochheuteal Beach.
The Won Poker Cup will feature 11 events with buy-ins ranging from $110 to $2,200. The highlight will be the main event, boasting a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000. This ambitious event aims to attract a large number of players to the Won Majestic, as it offers the largest prize ever organized in Sihanoukville.
The main event will feature five flights, with four flights having 40-minute levels and a turbo flight (Flight E) with 20-minute levels. Players will start with 30,000 chips, equivalent to 300 big blinds for the first level. Each flight will play 15 levels. Surviving players will bag their chips for Day 2. The top 15% will make it into the money (ITM), and the remaining players will compete to crown the champion on July 29, 2024.
