Vietnam Poker League (VPL) has officially debuted with the aim of creating a fresh, captivating, and valuable platform for the Vietnamese poker community. VPL proudly introduces the VPL Hanoi tournament - GTD 30B, a remarkable figure unprecedented in the history of domestic poker tournaments.

Looking back at history, the largest domestic tournament was the VSOP Championship IX (2023) with a GTD of 25B, but it took until the 9th season for the tournament to reach that figure. The inauguration of international tournaments held in Vietnam in 2023 is noteworthy. The Asian Poker Festival (APF), a brand-new series, debuted in Vietnam with a GTD of 27B. Additionally, more familiar brands like USOP Hanoi 2023 boasted a GTD of 32B, and WPT Prime Vietnam had a GTD of 30B.

What sets VPL apart from the aforementioned international tournaments is the absence of any additional fees collected by the organizers beyond the buy-in for each event. This will create a more valuable playing field for participating athletes.

Key Event

he main event of VPL will kick off on March 14th with 4 flights scheduled for the first day of competition. Players will start with a stack of 40,000 chips and enjoy 40-minute levels. This structure is well-suited for players to showcase their skills. It's not overly lengthy to avoid physical fatigue, yet not too short to rely heavily on luck. The main event of VPL boasts a guaranteed prize pool of 8B LP, approximately $333,333. The buy-in fee is set at 22M, allowing athletes to register for the tournament.

In addition, there will be "softer" events aimed at reaching out to a wider audience. Specifically:

The High Roller Series kicks off on the opening day with the High Roller Opener, featuring a GTD of LP 600M, and continues until its conclusion with the Last Chance High Roller tournament with a GTD of 1B LP on the 18th.

33 trophies will be awarded for this grand unveiling by the Vietnam Poker League. The trophy designs are quite impressive, even for the side events. Additionally, players' achievements will be updated on the largest poker database in the world, "The Hendon Mob."
